| Groups such as Hizbollah and Hamas cannot be defeated through the use of force. These are "grass roots" groups who have embraced a cause and are fighting on their own ground. Although Israel has killed a good number of members of these groups over the years, including leaders of both groups, they are stronger today than ever before. Both groups have offered various agreements to Israel which would bring an end to hostilities, but Israel has refused all cooperation. If you think that it appears that Israel prefers war to peace then you are not alone in these thoughts. Some people believe that you can kill your way to peace. This is a stone age strategy which can actually work if you are prepared to exterminate people in the hundreds of thousands. The math doesn`t work if you kill enemies at the rate of four or five people each day. |
