Title:Why Should Saniora Resign?
Name:Loyal Lebanese
City: State:
It is impractical to ask Saniora to resign, only to be replaced by a national unity government where Hizbullah and its allies maintain veto power. In any democracy, any governing coalition which maintains the majority in parliament forms the government and the opposition sits it out. Of course, Lebanon cannot function like that due to the sectarian nature of politics (and since all Shi`ites are in the opposition). Therefore, the best solution would be a national unity government with 14 majority, 6 neutral, and 10 opposition members. That way, neither the majority or the opposition would be able to impose its will on the other, and the weight would be provided by neutral candidates on critical issues.
