| Ambassador Kurtzer completely misunderstands the Arabs of East Jerusalem. He is certain they don`t feel part of the City, yet he has seen no polling that would indicate their interest in being part of a Jerusalem that was annexed by the Palestinian Authority. In Fact, Palestinians who have been senior figures at Orient House have told me Jerusalem Arabs want a united Jerusalem under Israeli soverignty but they want greater economic and political representation. They have been consantly threatened by Arafat`s thugs and now by the Tanzim. So Kurtzer, in his misassesment, is defacto calling for a third intifada by encouraging those Tanzim militants that agree with him. The Residents of East Jerusalem do not. |
