overcome the Palestinian question is to have Egypt take control over the Gaza Strip and Jordan take control over the West Bank.
The Palestinians have had so many opportunities to govern themselves, yet they either rejected those opportunities or could not bring themselvs to actually do it. By contrast, Egypt and Jordan are well governed Arab states with peace agreements with Israel and both have had the experience of governing these two territories respectively.
It is time to be realistic and seek peace through a regional undertaking of Egypt, Jordan and Israel cooperating in handling the Palestinian Arab problem. |
