| As has been pointed out in several recent Haaretz editorials, this is the right time for Israel to make far-reaching concessions to the legitimate rights of the Palestinian people, including lifting the blockade on the Gaza strip. And this is what Olmert should do if he wants a respite from the judiciary and the media onslaught on him. Hamas has made it clear that they will not recogize this rotten corpse of a so-called state, and they be steadfast in insisting on their basic rights, including the right to hold Gilead Shalit. Thus, as the enlightened editorials explained, there is no point in arguing about these matters. |
