Life has not improved one bit for the Palestinians since Abbas came to power, in fact things have gotten even worse. Even more roadblocks, even more checkpoints, even more restrictions, even more settlements. And I`m talking about the West Bank (not Gaza) which has been peaceful for some time. Its no wonder he is so unpopular.
Palestinians elected him to make peace, but unfortunately the Israeli Occupiers were never interested in helping him. I truly believe that Israel WANTS Hamas in power so that they won`t have to negotiate and can continue building more and more settlements unimpeded. |
