Has it not crossed anyone`s minds that the police and/or the prosecution may be out to bring down Olmert for political reasons? It`s been tried before.

Has everyone forgotten about Leora Glat-Berkovitz, prosecution attorney, who illegally leaked classified investigatory material in an attempt to prevent Ariel Sharon`s re-election as PM?

What about Yaakov Neeman being charged with perjury and having to resign as justice minister, only to be found not guilty after a trial that went on for ages?

What about justice minister Haim Ramon, who was brought down by a single kiss?

Every Israeli PM in the last 20 years has been investigated for something or other. Not a single one has been convicted. Now it`s Olmert`s turn. One needs to ask, who benefits from the present situation?

Olmert should be given the benefit of the doubt. Since he`s a centrist, there are those on both the left and right who would like to see him out. Until there are charges, it`s just a lot of blah blah
