Let us discuss the facts alone. If we are to see a two state solution, rationality must reign supreme. As a historical scholar, I can comfortably take either side in this debate and talk for hours on end about atrocities committed by the other side, but ultimately, it has been shown that this does little good.
Everyone must do everything in their power to ensure that a viable, prosperous, and democratic Palestinian state is created sooner than later.
Reasonable and highly educated people are leaving both Israel and Palestine for the security and prosperity of Europe and North America. If we wait too much longer we will only be left with extremists on both sides with no possible solution to be found.
The time for blame has ended. One may say that it is easy for one who lives in Canada to say this, but it is also easy for one to examine the historical record and see that vengeance is not ever a solution to a problem. |
