| Metal caskets and reburying the dead are both Halachic isues. Did Herzl or the Israeli government consult the Rabbinate? When Rabbi Koppul Rosen was buried in Carmel College with the condition that he would eventually be reburied on Mount Carmel in Haifa there was considerable Rabbinical opposition. |
