Yes, it`s a great vote of confidence in Israeli talent - the kind one also gets from the likes of IBM, Motorola, Intel, Cisco, HP, and many more. But even Israeli smarts won`t save an increasingly irrelevant Microsoft. It`s failing against Google in search, against Sony and Nintendo in gaming, against Apple in media hardware, content, and smart phones. No one seriously thinks Vista is in the same league as OS X. (Does anyone in Israel want to claim credit for the failure that is Vista?)
Face it. Microsoft "thrives" only on continued near-monopoly profits from the Windows and Office franchises. |
