| The English-language talkbackers on Haaretz.com never cease to shock me. Excuse me for being "out of the mainstream," but when John Hagee, a Messianic Christian who believes that on Judgment Day Jews will either convert to Christianity or go to hell, gets a standing ovation of over five minutes at the AIPAC convention, I think that means that American Jews need an alternative voice. I refuse to let AIPAC and the neoconservative Christian right have a monopoly on representing American`s opinions regarding Israel and the conflict. I`m not sure how productive J-Street will be, but to condemn the idea as "worthless," "a fraud," "silly..." Very democratic of you to be against more options for representation, eh? |
