| What does a secular pro-Arab party have to do with a Persian Islamist state? This marriage will not last and Assad knows it. The host will eventually become the servant. Assad is acting cool in signing pacts with Iran but he must be sweating knowing that Hez has obtained the legitimacy in Lebanon that Syria had been fighting for the last 30 years. Now Hez can dispense with Syria because they own Lebanon. It was civil war by threat. Syria is next. |
