I hope that you are right about Barack Obama winning no matter what percentage of the Jewish vote he receives. That said, I also hope that nobody in Obama`s Presidential campaign listens to you or anybody like you when they make their plans for the fall general election campaign.
I agree that McCain will not carry CA (although CA could become problematic if efforts within the CA legislature to allocate electors proportionally rather than by the traditional winner-take-all approach succeed) or NY, but John Kerry only won NJ in 2004 by seven percentage points, while getting 76% of the Jewish vote.
When you combine the fact that McCain is not nearly as unpopular in NJ as Bush and the possibility that the Jewish vote in NJ could yield a net loss of 100K votes for Obama, there is a distinct possibility, if not a probably that NJ will go from being cobalt blue to deep purple.
