| Yea, my subject line sounds pretty harsh. But ya know, when Hamas fires rockets into Israeli towns where thousands of people live, almost none of the anti-Israel pro-Pal talkbackers have much to say about it. Today`s event is a one-off affair. Hamas tested the waters to see if Israel would respond. We did. Thankfully, nobody was killed. Hamas was probably ready to sacrifice a few dozen "martyrs", but I get the impression that willing martyrs are getting scarcer to find. So over the next week Hamas, Jihad and other groups will probably fire dozens of rockets and mortars at Israeli civilians, and the world won`t really care. And we`ll sit here and shake our heads, wondering if the Palestinians will ever wake up and join the civilized world. Want the border crossings opened? Stop shooting at us and declare publicly that you want peace. While Hamas wages war, the borders will stay closed. |
