| Any peace treaty between Israel and Syria would call for Israel to return the Golan and for Syria to cease support of Hizbollah and Hamas. If Syria were to give up support of Hizbollah without a peace treaty, then Israel wouldn`t need to make the deal as much and Syria would not see the return of the Golan. When Syria is negotiating peace, it is in their best interests to magnify the reasons that Israel is seeking peace to begin with. |
