| I was shocked by this statement. It was as stupid as Bush`s Axis of Evil speech. It was perhaps more stupid than Bush`s comments, because it goes beyond a limited number of countries, and offends the whole Islamic world. No one in the United States is calling for the elimination of Israel, but you are pain in the rear end for American foreign policy. It is, of course, our fault, that we have let Israel determine our Middle Eastern policy. We are not a theocratic state, and we have no business assisting one religious group dominate other religious groups. We are not like Israel, nor are we like any other country. We have had religious peace because we have kept government out of religion. We are a very religious country, but we are composed of many religions who compete peacefully for converts. It is stupid for us to be involved in religious situations that our forefathers left many countries so they could follow their own religious beliefs freely. |
