Tomer Zarchin, Haaretz Correspondent and Haaretz Service: High Court rejects petition asking to ban Jerusalem Gay Pride parade

Every other day of the year I march down all kinds of streets in Jerusalem, but no one can see easily that I am a lesbian. The Haredim walk around all over town and everyone can see them parading their "lifestyle." So why is it that some people don`t want me to walk around only one day each year with a rainbow flag so that my neighbors know who I am? Does it "desecrate" Jerusalem that I live here, and that I go to synagogue here, and that I pray and learn and love and live here? If not, then why is it so terrible that once a year I get to march in a group of my friends who are also gay?
