first of all, i would not generalize. history shows how aram muslims and christians lived together and religion was never an issue. my own grandfather told me many nice stories about living in jerusalem and enjoying a one community.
ever since the late 1800s on, things began to change. the massive jewish migration to palestine (israel now); the massive displacement of the palestinains; and creation of israel created contention for the obvious reasons.
i have many jewsish friends who are smart and kind. i have nothing against them and i believe it is mutual.
the commonality is both side can afford to resolve this problem and cut losses. however painful will it be, a peace treaty is in both sides` interest. |
