| What guts it took to undergo this unbearable horror and not only continue with one`s life but start a new family! Smadar Haran is one person I have always considered a moumental heroine of Jewish history. Part of her life was left there in that crawl space that part was extinguished. But the part of her that survived gasped for air and breathed for life. I cannot think of too many persons with the guts and fortitude that she has. It is exactly people like her that allowed the Jewish people to overcome the Holocaust and build the brave nation of Israel. I have always wanted to say this to her. |
