Apparently you haven`t spoken with ALL major players. I would suggest that the treating physician in Jericho is an extremely major player, as he saw Omer right after the incident and does not appear to be connected in any way with Israel. I would further suggest that one might question the ethics of a journalist who does not track down and speak with such players.
