I`m disappointed more Arab envoys didn`t attend the reception. For years Bahrain, Tunisia and Morocco have shown moderate and reasonable attitudes towards Israel and Mauritania even maintains full diplomatic relations with Israel. Yemen and Israel were just about to establish low-level ties back in 2000 but then the Intafada started and that put the kibosh on that plan.
After all, if a high-ranking Palestinian UN envoy attended, other Arab representatives should have shown up as well. It would be a good symbol of peace.
The Arab representatives who did attend is a slap in the face to Iran and Lebanon. And of course the Indrajayas and Clickfools of the world. Sweeeeet!!! |
