| Obviously silly to claim some new US radar will allow Arrow (or Arrow III) "to engage Iranian missiles halfway through their 11 minute flight". C`mon, half the 1000 mile range is 500 miles, and the Arrow vehicle does not have anything close to that range. Likewise, claiming benefit to shooting down Iranian nuclear warheads at a higher altitude than the current Arrow "to minimize fallout" is even more stupid. Nuclear warheads do not "go off" unless detonated by a complex process. Smashing into one with a kinetic kill warhead or armour-piercing shrapnel stops any nuclear detonation -no "fallout" at any altitude. Israel should be single-mindedly pursuing the same defensive strategy the US, UK, France and the rest of the free world depend on-the credible threat of total nuclear obliteration of an aggressor. It`s worked for 60 years, and gimcrack "defensive" missiles/lasers/boost-phase intercepts - which have never worked even once in battle - are easily defeated by cheap technology. |
