| b: "and they blame israel?! " Bashar, it is axiomatic that Abbas doesn`t want these guys released, because they will then vote his appointees out and themselves back into the PA govt. So Abbas has no choice but to threaten Israel with the only credible threat he has left i.e. to pull the plug on the PA itself. Fine; no surprises there. But why did Israel not only RELEASE that information, but name all the go-betweens? Ask. Youself. That. Not because they find secrets distasteful. Not because they were offended by this threat. Not because they were obligated to release this. They did it to ensure Abbas is a goner. Why? Because the pretence that Abbas is a "peace partner" no longer serves Olmert`s purpose, because Israel are NOW being pressed by Condi to make REAL concessions. That was never Israel`s intention, and the easiest way to stop it is to release information that turns Abbas into A Dead Man Walking. No more "partner" = no more "negotiations". |
