although this plan isn`t workable. But my reasons are different than yours. Even under the best of circumstances a viable Palestinian Arab "state" in the entire "West Bank" and Gaza Strip would be impossible to sustain for pure economic reasons. Thus, the need for a reasonable alternative that will usher an accommodation of peaceful co-existence between Arab and Jew, between Israel as the nation-state of a people, the Jewish people, and its Arab neighbors.

Since at least 1937 the Arabs (Muslim-Arabs to be precise) have rejected every single plan and offer placed on the table by either the international community or by Israel. And when the opportunity has presented itself to set up their own state they did nothing about it except to greet it with more bullets, explosives and mortars aimed at civilian Jews.

This approach has gradually brought with it lesser and lesser attractive offers and opportunities.

Was Abba Eban correct about his "missing opportunities" observation?!
