There is virtually no claasical, religious, nationalistic or neo nazi anti-Semitism in Cuba, Venezuela, Ecuador, Nicaragua or Bolivia.
But these countries are increasingly sleeping with Iran. That`s when you start seeing Hezbola Venezuela, and the most viscious Al-Manar propaganda in these countries.
In Argentina two massacres in 1992 and 1994 have happened, one against the Israeli Embassy and the other against the Jewish Community Center and Relief Agency AMIA. Iran and Hezballah were behind both.
I know what Latin Americans think. I am one myself. They are not anti-Semitic. But peoiple are vulnerable to hate propaganda against Israel, and that IS the new anti-Semitism.
In that sense, the notion of Israel as the Left`s little satan, not only as Iran`s little satan, is everywhere in this continent. Nobody has cared to look into Latin America for a decade or more. Except Iran. |
