Fully endorsed by the Arab League, the Saudi Initiative is a more than generous offer to the Israelis. The US needs to recognize its inherent fairness, and the crucial endorsement it has throughout the Middle East, with one exception, Israel (excluding Islamic extremists, whose position can be compared to that of Israel - not moderate).
The US can not continue to bolster and finance Israel`s settler enterprise with one hand while at the same time posturing in the role of impartial peace maker. Israel can not have it both ways, and neither can the US. Honesty demands that hypocrisy be called by its right name. |
