| I must give Madame Sec. Rice an A for effort. She has been consistent enough in her arguments. I believe she is an idealist in her search for peace. However she lacks the deep understanding of the underlining problems facing two different people. To be more pragmatic and to the point, the majority of Palestinians want Israel back to pre 1948. Israel on the other hand,prefers to build and expand into the West Bank and Golan. Israel knows that peace will not be made by signing some documents or hyped up accords that will end up in some Presidential Library. Lasting peace can only be made through strong leadership. Neither Israel or Palestine has either. I wonder whether the Saudi Plan can be redrafted into a more sensible and acceptable first stage "Roadmap".? |
