| While I wouldnt say Montreal is a world jewish captital, even the village voice and the Fowards have proclaimed Montreal Bagels to be the best and most authentic,and our smoke meat to be far superior to pastrami.This of course doesnt make Montreal a jewish capital( there is more to Jewish montreal than that as well) but it certainly makes it a major provincial capital,closer to the sources and more culturally authentic than many places in North america. Amajor jewish school in montreal teaches Yiddish as part of their studies, their is a large Mizrachi community and we have the lowest rate of internmarriage in north america.Come and visit. |
