Israel and the US play the same vile game. Jimmy Carter hated Russia so he armed and funded the Mujihadeen. Clinton hated the latter so he and Benazir Bhutto armed and funded student refugees from Afghanistan and called them the Taliban to fight the mujihadeen. Israel hated Fatah so they started Hamas, when Arafat died and Hamas won they switched back to the suddenly nice Fatah. Both nations would do well to stop starting wars they cannot win.
