Fear mongering is being used by both sides and they go too far because the things they fear the most probably won`t happen, but it is a tool being used by both sides. We get terrorized twice, once by the terrorists and twice by the politicians and the government. The govt. ought not to terrorize the citizens, but what can you do, it keeps the population in line, just like in Russia.
