The reality is that the French are inundated with biased anti-Israeli news coverage by journalists and analysts who, in their vast majority, are ignorant and/or dishonest. A lot of French people are hostile to Israel because of the continuous pro-Palestinian propaganda with which they are fed in the media. This is true not only of French television (like France 2, creator of the Al-Dura story). The reputed "Le Monde", for example, read by the French "elite", is blatantly dishonest in the way it reports the situation in Israel and the Palestinian territories.
This negatively biased perception of Israel is prevalent in many other parts of Europe (in the UK, for instance). |
