| In the unlikely event that McCain was elected and Palin had to assume the presidency, we would see what her true attitude toward Israel is. Don`t forget that Bush was one of Israels strongest supporters and greatest benefactors, but still, he is pressuring Israel to make peace and stop settlement expansion. Some people still think that peace can be achieved through peaceful means. This is not the case. Israel must feel the presence of great pain or a great threat in order to generate an interest in peace. Until that happens, Israel prefers expansion. All of the yakkity yak from American politicians will not change this. The Iranian nuclear program may be the key to peace in the mideast. It certianly has a better chance than all the feeble efforts from all the limp wristed American presidents so far. |
