To Sephardi parents wishing to send their kids to this cesspool of ignorance, you should remind them who gave them the Shulhan Arukh, the Kuzari, Moreh Nevuchim, and lets not forget the Talmud, which certainly wasn`t penned down in Lodz or Krakow. In any case, the Jews who wrote these treasures of Judaism wrote them for ALL of Yisrael. I say screw Beit Ya`qov (read Zevel) and keep your Kabod and don`t aspire to be a black hatter carbon copy. We should be proud of who we are and we should value our Minhagim and our pragmatic, flexible Sephardi approach that embraced the positives of tradition but did not forget the changing world within which it existed. |
