The trouble with your position is that if this were some other century, say in the 18th, the Ashkenazim would be given short shrift from the Sephardim. Anger will not do it.
It`s an old story. There is are different approaches--one goes for Learning, the other emphasizes Halacha. The other thing is that the Yetzer HaRa works double duty with some people on some issues, admitting children from Sephardic families to their Ashkenazic schools.
Except for Ofakim, where the Haredi leadership there insisted that Ashkenazi and Sephardi children study in the same school. The rest of the schools continue to maintain the policy of not allow Sephardi children in their schools.
Then too, those Sephardim who follow the Halachic precepts of Ben Ish Chai are known to be stricter in some areas that any Ashkenazim, so . . . it both ways, there, too.
The bottom line is to keep still unless you know enough to discuss any issue, including this one. |
