| Israel signed peace agreements with Egypt & Jordan.Despite all that has happened re terrorist attacks & Israeli responses, war with Lebanon, both Egypt & Jordan have refrained from any overt actions. There has to be peace with Syria & that will mean very difficult sacrifices by Israel. Syria has said that once direct talks commence Lebanon will also join in.That will result in fury by the right wing extremists in Israel who seem to like the status quo. But they should realise that the Iranians & the Hezbolla will also react with fury. The only way to neutralise Iran is peace with Syria. |
