Until such time as the American people elect, via the United States Senate, to grant Israel the same sort of guarantee that has been granted to America`s NATO allies - to the effect that an attack upon that allies` soil will be treated as an attack upon the soil of the United States - references to a "US Betrayal" will strike most US citizens as hollow, even in the aftermath of an incineration. The Israeli government and its citizenry need to recognize that fact and act accordingly.
