Only the Americans are interested in continued warfare. If not Iraq, then Afghanistan. They will chase their enemy right into Pakistan. What does it matter that it is a sovereign state? The world is their oyster. What does it matter that they are trillions of dollars in debt, and Wall Street is teetering on the brink of disaster, that people have lost their homes because they could not afford the payments, that they do not have universal health care?
So mazel tov to Livni, she will have to deal w/that lot. She opted not to go to war w/ Lebanon, when there had to be a consensus w/ Olmert and Peretz. That contributed to the confusion. So let her deal w/ Hamas and Hezbollah and Syria, not to mention Ahmedinejad. Rosh Hashanah is soon upon us, who knows, after Kippur, what awaits us, what is in store? May Hashem help Israel, its people and its government to navigate the waters well.
