US military aggression around the world costs a lot of money. Note that US military spending is larger than all of the other 190+ nations of the earth, COMBINED!
Because Americans refuse to tax themselves enough to pay for all that military adventurism, they have a national debt of over 950 TRILLION dollars, which causes the dollar to be close to worthless.
The hard truth is it would be cheaper in the long run for the US to just bribe other countries to be nice to America and cut out most of the military.
There is no reason the US has soldiers spread all over the world, other than a desire to rule the earth.
If the US had any maturity, it could solve all its problems with Iran overnight. Just pull all Americans out of the ME, acknowledge the US errors (like propping up the Shah) and signing a peace treaty. The US would also have to walk away from Israel and refuse to help it any more (although realistically, there is no reason for the US to help Israel any way). |
