I happen to live in south Tel Aviv, in the entrance to Schonat Ha`Tikva, one of the more run down sections of the city. Here we have hundreds of Indians, Sudanese, Filipinos, Sri Lankins and multitudes of other minorities of non-jewish descent living in our midst. Amongst us are many Arab Israelis aswell.
One can see the working immigrants out and about on the streets with their kids, biking and roller blading the empty streets along with their fellow Jewish neighbors. I witnessed young kids, Jewish and non-jewish alike in so called posies, cycling up and down HaHagana.
Now every car that drove through was noted by the Arab Music blasting from their car system and every Arab that walked by was noted from the Arab Music blasting from their phone. The noise was clearly done on purpose. I find it ironic that those who have no connection to this land are willing to refrain from offensive acts on Yom Kippur, but those whom we are suppose to share the land with prefer to instigate. |
