Gideon: 1) the festival cancellation was not made to punish the Arabs (that they deserve punishment is a separate issue). You can`t have a normal event amidst chaos, bloodshed and destruction. You can`t put civilians lives at risk that way. There was a private Jewish celebration today and a baby got hurt by a rock thrown inside his home. It would be irresponsible to tell people to come out and play when they are fearing for their lives.
2) It`s way past time you took off your rose-colored glasses. Have you taken a look at the news in the past year alone? There`s Arab violence everywhere. Name me one Arab country where non-Muslims can live without fear of violence or oppression. And you expect to have such country exist where two ethnic groups believe they own the exact same piece of land? There will never be peace, Gideon. Wake up and face reality. Jews tried to live in peace with "their" Arabs. Proven wrong again and again. Jordan was to be home for the Arabs, remember? |
