While it might be interesting to analyze why the conflict started, the proper steps are to prevent further rioting and to suppress the inciters to violence (meuzzin and other riff raff). The festival is canceled for now; no one could guarantee the minimal requirements for safety now. Perhaps by next year things will be better.
It isn`t about religion per se, neither the Jews nor the Arabs involved in the dispute were particularly observant religiously. It started when someone blundered into a bicycle/no car zone but that was only the spark. The fire is the long standing grievances between the two communities. There are no quick fixes for that although it is certainly not without recourse. |
