Well what is the answer?
Israel needs to have peace with her neighbours and to me that means establishing borders between Israel and her neighbours which everyone recognises and the creation of a viable Palestinian State.
Otherwise if not next year, the year after there is going to be yet another war which will be punctuated with the low grade hostilities between Hamas and Israel. With Iran stirring with her big (shortly to be nuclear tipped) spoon.
Israel has relied on the status quo since 1967 unfortunatley this is rapidly ceasing to exist. We have to try another way. Remembering of course than any final deal MUST ensure the security of the Israeli people.
Which would be best served by recognition by the Arab States of Israel and Israeli membership of NATO with Russian support. |
