| The price being paid because of successive Israeli governments` collusion with the settlers is already inestimable - one day someone will research this darkest stain on our history and discover the enormity of the costs. 40+ years of occupation, settlement construction, roads, maintenance of the Civil Administration, of the IDF units etc etc. In world economic downturn terms this must be in $billions. And then there is the other inesstimable cost - in human suffering to all those innocent Palestinians who have borne the brunt of the inhumanity and indignity of it all. And the irony is that this was all to defend Israel from the alien Palestinian population it occupied post `67. What we created instead was a monster that now threatens us and our security. Its wake up time. |
