Talkback
Title:#15 Pretty easy to answer that question, GWN
Name:Johnboy
City: SydneyState: Australia
GWN: "could it be that the arab/muslim continuation of terrorism has any impact?"

No.

GWN: "or is it the fact that the arab/muslim peace process includes the complete destruction of Israel?"

No.

Look elsewhere....

It is the growth of the settlements (and Israel`s unwillingness to consider giving them up) that is the reason why a peace treaty between Israel and the Palestinians proves to be so elusive.

Israel uses these settlements to attempt a crude land-grab - "facts on the ground" - and has now spent decades convincing the Israeli public that this ploy must - must! - eventually pay dividends for the Jews.

So much so that no Israeli govt is willing to admit to the public that this is a fools errand.

So Israeli diplomacy is stalled, because no Israeli govt has the fortitude to admit the truth i.e. this was A Bad Idea.

And if they can`t admit that then how can they agree to "peace", when the price for that peace *must* *be* the unravelling of the settlements?
