| I`ll be Carter won`t mention that Lebanon has illegally denied Palestinians basic human rights for 60 years, that they keep them in guarded camps, that their laws prevent Palestinians from owning land or performing most jobs, all under the fiction that Palestinians have no state and thus aren`t due the rights accorded to any citizen of any state. It`s amazing but the Carter Center, for all its Israeli activism, has no operations in Lebanon and is silent about what may be the single greatest roadblock to an agreement, those hundreds of thousands of Palestinians kept in "refugee status," most born in Lebanon, who could have been absorbed decades ago. |
