| Everyone should read this article to understand why the Palestinians will never be able to set up a state that could live in peace with Israel. Amira is one of the best friends the Palestinian movement has ever had and yet both Arafat`s FATAH and Gaza`s HAMAS regimes expelled her. They can not take any criticism, they rule by fear, intimidation and bribery. It is in the interest of the ruling regime to keep the population impoverished so that they can keep everyone dependent on food and money handouts from those in power to ensure their loyalty. In retrospect, everyone admits the best period in Gaza`s history was the pre-Oslo period of Israeli "occupation"...there was full employment, infrastructure and health care were developed and there was free movement in and out of the Gaza Strip. Rabin and Peres` criminal act of bringing Arafat and his terrorist gangs to the Palestinian territories brought poverty, violence, chaos and intimidation to these territories. |
