UN Resolution 194 hasn`t been settled 60 years on (not 40) purely because there was no Arab country willing to negotiate with Israel. Resolution 242 was 40 years ago, and has not been fulfilled for the same reason.
242 mentions "the refugees", which includes the 900,000 Jewish refugees from Arab lands and their descendants, people no Arab country is willing to admit existed.
Look to your history books again, try to open your mind and see that there are wrongs committed by both sides that need redressing.
Still occupied? Are there Israeli forces inside the Gaza Strip on a daily basis? Are there Israeli settlers living in the Gaza Strip? What prevents the Gazans from building a nation to call their own?
To take your analogy, if Long Island residents were determined to take over the rest of New York state and fired missiles at the residents of Brooklyn regularly, would you remain silent, or would you defend yourself? |
