The canned, knee-jerk responses of many can be predicted with ease. The fact is that the government of Yemen has moved quickly to arrest the culprit. That culprit is getting little sympathy in Yemen and there is considerable concern for the Jews. This response fails to meet the bigoted expectations of people on both sides and thus they lash out with predictable responses. My `cynical` projections of responses were indeed cynical. I never said that they were my response. I just predicted the spread of thoughtless, anti-factual things people would say. Yes, it seems an individual killed an individual over that individual`s refusal to convert. I recall Muhammad not killing a wife because she would not convert. I understand that killing a peaceful person for not converting is against the teaching of Islam. And I don`t see anything `macro` in this instance at all other than the response of Yemen fails to meet the expectations of bigots.
