Whereas Israel made many errors in the way it managed the 2006 war, it`s clear that the US Army War College has missed a few important facts.

Firstly, Hezbollah did not fight outside of civilian areas, but actually and very deliberately, used their civilians as human shields and to great advantage.

Secondly, the Hezbollah needed to have a UN force in place who are all blind in at least one eye and who are afraid to go out on patrol after dark. How else could they achieve the level of reinforced bunker protection in and around their civilian villages without being detected.

Thirdly, the UN Force needs to be equipped with advanced listening and monitoring equipment to enable it to acurately inform them (Hezbollah) of the locations and movements of the advancing Israeli Army.

Clearly the US Army War College could benefit greatly from a meeting with the UN in Lebanon to fully appreciate how to assist gorilla armies.
