Of course, some of us here would be happier if Israel gave the enemy a smack down it won`t soon forget. But the US gains expertise from Israel`s efforts, even if they don`t go as planned.
That said, Hizbullah operated both as an insurgency from within civilian territory and as a proper army. The latter was made possible by extensive Iranian involvement in training, equipment and coordination. Nor was it bereft of Lebanese Army assistance, as in the strike on the INS Hanit.
Hizbullah shouldn`t assume that the next time will be like the last. Israel learns lessons too. |
